2.0 out of 5 stars nothing about these books are dark
I mean nothing they’re in a game world that even if you do kill someone they have another life, but we just found out that they don’t die they just wonder forever to be a sprit. I thought since it had dark in the title it was going to be different from all the other litrpg books but nope same old thing. Pure hero has to save everyone. And correct mistake that has nothing to do with him. I was really hoping for a fresh take but nope same old have to save the world.
Satisfying
Deep world building that creates an interesting series of challenges. Evolving cast of characters. Looking forward to seeing where they go in the next book. Do read from the first book, it is worth it!
5.0 out of 5 stars a phenomenal continuation
It’s hard to write a review for a book this late into a series. The best thing that i can say is to start from the beginning and read the whole series! This was a phenomenal continuation of the story, and with each new entry i find myself craving more. As a chronic re-reader, this series has pushed me to expand my interests and experiment with stories i do not already know. The excitement that this series has created in me has brought the endless wonder of literature back into my life, and i couldn’t be more grateful.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good, but plot got derailed and sidetracked
Enjoyed the book. However there were numerous times where it seemed author just abandoned plot lines, threw something completely new together just supported by some new item tossed into the book. Too many abandoned efforts, too much reader investment wasted. Will read next, but series is fading pretty hard here, I almost don't care after 5 long plots built over 5 books were just thrown away.
5.0 out of 5 stars I've read each book 3 times! Pure entertainment!
The flow and character development is amazing. The world he creates is so fun, intriguing, and beautiful! I don't myself choosing to reread his books rather over other forms of distraction and entertainment; which is totally new for me!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great keeps getting better
The series continues to grow in strength. Absolutely fantastic. A well developed world with immense scope and epic storytelling. Can’t recommend enough.
3.0 out of 5 stars fun and promising
The story is really good, the world building has potential and is fun. The mechanics are s tier. However, the story is very busy. There is a lot going on for a single PoV story. I will continue most likely.
Growing complexity
As the scope of the story increases, it gets better and better. The series of interrupted plans can be a little chaotic, but the fact that they represent actual setbacks for the MC is a nice change to stories where everything always goes according to plan.
5.0 out of 5 stars Exceeded every expectation
Some things are worth waiting for. This was one of them! As one of the first and bests in genre this series does not disappoint. Very much looking forward to the next!
really good
This is a really good series? I enjoyed reading them and I can’t wait for the next book to come out. Thank you for writing them.
Two books in the same dungeon, too much
When they arrived in this dungeon I was expecting it to fill maybe 40-60% of a book. Not an entire 2 books slogging through this.
5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent series...Well Done!
This is a great series. The MC is well written, and his journey through the series is very enjoyable. This is one of the few series that I like to reread, waiting until the next book is released. Well done.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great run so far.
I love the universe of this system. A real fun read. Please read in order. You'll like it more this way.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing LitRPG
I think I read this in less than 3 days. I’ve enjoyed every aspect of watching Micheal grow as a versatile player and power to reckon with. Can’t wait for the next book.
5.0 out of 5 stars You will not get any sleep.
Damn you Tom Elliot. I did not think I would like this series as it is not exactly my favorite type of fantasy, but wowzers. I got the first 3 in a combo pack and barely got any sleep. I read them totally captivated and on the edge of my seat. I then had to get the next 3 books, which I purchased separately, but also read them in a binge reading. Of course, the next one is not due out until September, but on the plus side, I have a birthday on the 4th, so it will be an awesome birthday gift to read. The one thing I did not care for in the story was that I felt Michael from the very get go, never JUST did something, he would let a good thing go because he had to stand or sit there and ponder every aspect of every detail before making a decision. But still, what a great story and I am so looking forward to the next installment.
One of my favourite series
I wished that audible releases weren't in delay as they are for so many books, but reading along I still felt I heard the voices of the characters in my head from the previous books.. I hope that this series lasts 10 books, as finishing on 7 would leave out so much more story to tell... Ghost is 😎
5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Glued!!
This book especially and series has had a hold on me that can’t be broken. Wonderfully written and amazing Events!! I couldn’t be more excited for the series.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great series
Now I have to wait till September for the next book. I have really enjoyed these. This isn’t normally my kind of books I’d rather like Sasquatch horror Dogmen Werewolf stuff like that The only thing about these books I skipped through some of the games about attribute points classes, and all of that none of the stories you should try these are really good
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent gripping storyline.
Well constructed. Varied and interesting plot. Brisk and effiecient narrative. Very enoyable. Compelling and engaging characters. Only wish it was already in audible format.
5.0 out of 5 stars could not stop reading
Love the book, love the series. Can’t wait for the next book September is too long to wait. Please speed time up
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid.
I’ve read hundreds of LilRPGs…this one is worth the read. It has legs to the story. Good flow. Solid characters. Potential for even better story arc. Needs a dash of romance… looking forward to next book.
5.0 out of 5 stars The best
This is by far the best LitRPG series that I've read so far. The characters are believable and the Game System is interesting without becoming overpowered.
anticipated release
Decent read but covered to short a time period. A long wait until September for the next instalment Oh well
5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than the last pne!
After re-reading the entire story, and then this book, Michael's adventures in the Forever kingdom have become one of my favorite series, right up there with "He who fights with monsters" and the Titan series. I hope this series has10 more books! Every paragraph is necessary to the story -no fluff. I's "all killer, no filler".
5.0 out of 5 stars thats more like it
My review of book 5 was unenthusiastic. I felt it was filler to stretch the narrative . This book added a lot to the world building , added new characters and was one of the most entertaining of the series . Cant wait until September .
Extended epilogue for Book 5
Very little plot progression apart from the introduction of some new characters. Basically the entire book was about tying up loose ends from Book 5 (some of which had already been handled satisfactorily). Not terrible, but it felt like a stutter-step in an otherwise fast moving series. There were still some good fights and important RPG progression, so it wasn't a total waste. The writing quality was also up to the same standard, with few errors. Here's hoping this filler book gave Elliot some time to really set up the next few books.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very good
My favourite series, though this book was bit naive sometimes concerning NH politics. But outstanding fighting and leveling and storybuilding.
1.0 out of 5 stars filler
The last book ended with Michael beating the dungeon. Surely he would leave the dungeon in this book, right? Nope. Spends the entire book in the dungeon that he already beat. Lots of filler and little plot development. I don’t know if the author doesn’t k ow what he wants to do next or what but it was very disappointing
4.0 out of 5 stars It was too short
The only thing I had an issue with was that Michael didn't choose Elder Form and that the story was too short! Other than that, great story as usual.
Missing, chapters
The book was missing several chapters so I didn’t quite get the whole story however, I love the first five books really look good, but I was not happy with this book
5.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable addition to the series!
Plots and twists with new characters. Team Wolf growing by leaps and bounds. Just wish it was longer and had more storyline with his pack in the other dungeon.
4.0 out of 5 stars enjoyable book
This was another good book in the series although it started out slow and took to about the 25% mark to really get started. I look forward to reading the next one.
4.0 out of 5 stars consistently on point
Everything is great about Tom Elliot’s writing. The experience just ends too quickly :/. Here’s to another 8 months until the next book in the series xD.
4.0 out of 5 stars Still fun but a touch stagnant
I’m still enjoying Michael’s adventures but it felt like he’s been in the current dungeon for too long (most of two books). It does feel like the author has been using that time to grow the Grand Game universe and further prep for future books, so I’m okay with it. Looking forward to the next book!
4.0 out of 5 stars a departure
Still one of the best litrpg series out there. This one slowed down a lot. While the scene of the action surprisingly didn’t progress, the wolf clan and supporting character class expanded significantly. I’m hoping the next installment allows us to reconnect with old characters we haven’t seen for a few books. Top notch progression system. Thoughtful character building and clean writing.
4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting developments
How will Michael deal with his new infamy? Will he be able to remain hidden from the Powers? And what will Loken do? I’m still wondering if Loken is deliberately setting Michael up to become a new Prime, for some reason. This book was one where our MC solidifies his foundations and gets ready to face greater trials and opportunities to come. Michael got a few levels, but nothing remarkable - but he did increase his skills and abilities instead.
5.0 out of 5 stars Truly a Grand Game
I cannot get enough of this series! Before I started this book, I was eager to see Michael join back with the pack and Safyre. I can't say that I was disappointed that he didn't leave the dungeon until the end, however. I feel the story was advanced forward in a meaningful way. Michael now has allies to help him with his goals and an apprentice?! I was so excited for that and look forward to her development. Next book please! Waiting is the worst part. 😅
5.0 out of 5 stars Epic
Thank you for such a good series. I don't know what else to say. Just really cool and I have having to wait far the next one.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good read
The story continues, and it's just as enthralling as the first five. I can't wait till the next one is released.
can’t wait for the next one
Very satisfying instalment, we get to learn more hidden history of the world and dungeon, some great new characters introduced, and very solid writing. Can’t wait for the next one.
Amazing
I have really enjoyed this series, please continue but faster. A little bit far-fetched but entertaining great, fantastic, enjoyable, readable
5.0 out of 5 stars ridiculously engrossing
Just as good as the first 5, I only wish it was twice as long! 6 months for the next book is so short and so long at the same time!
5.0 out of 5 stars great
love this book and all those that came before. This story is great. I am now eagerly awaiting book seven. good job!
Mostly Shoeleather writing in this one
I have so far liked the series, but this feels more like an unnecessary Book 5b than a Book 6. Shoe leather is what writers call the unnecessary parts of a story that is normally removed, like leaving the door unlocked in a show so the characters can come and go without needing one character to open it for another wasting time. This book is full of shoe leather that could have been dealt with "offscreen" instead of wasting time. I like feeling like Michael is pushing himself in each book to overcome a new obstacle but his life was never really in danger at any point in this story because he killed all the dangerous dungeon denizens in the last book. With the dungeon finally wrapped up, I hope Tom doesn't let negative reviews impact his momentum and can get back to some solid story progression for Book 7 because the new content that was here sets up some exciting storylines to come.
5.0 out of 5 stars It just keeps getting better
Wolf is getting pissed and ready to hand down some judgements! Enjoy the ride. I love this series, once I got past the first few chapters in the first book I've been unable to put them down. Scion's Duty added even more story threads that I can't wait to see how they develop. I'm looking forward to the next book.
Super!!!
Super Buch!!! Freue mich schon auf den nächsten Teil … Bin auf die englischen Teile umgestiegen, weil die Teile schneller rauskommen. Kann ich nur empfehlen…
5.0 out of 5 stars excellent
This one was awesome. I really enjoyed it and I really hope that the next one is just as good as this one is! The story was deep as usual and funny, there were twists and surprises and new knowledge of the game. Loads of fun, thanks!
5.0 out of 5 stars I love this series
This is a very good LitRPG, if you enjoy those this series is for you! This book in particular was fantastic and really hard to put down. Once I got about halfway through I kept reading until 2am when I had work at 5. Fantastic book keep up the great storytelling!
Too damn short
Great characters, both old and new. The story is well paces and compelling. My only grip is this and book 5 should really have been a single book.
Keeps getting better!
This book is even better than the one before with a few unseen twists that are very good for the progression! Can’t wait for the next one!
