Empyrean’s Rise

For centuries, the new Powers have controlled the Game.

But the Game was eons old before their rise.

And now, something new—and old, too—is stirring.

The Empyrean.

In the unlikeliest of places, in the depths of a Power’s sector, and in the heart of a young woman, an ancient bloodline stirs.

Elana is an orphan. She hates the Game and everything it represents. But now, fate threatens to steal one of the few people Elana holds dear: her brother Soren. How far will she go to save him? And will she become the very thing she hates in doing so?

Can Elana survive long enough to realize her own destiny? Read her tale and find out!

This is a standalone novella set in the world of the Grand Game. To enjoy this tale, it is not necessary to have read the main series.
Join Elana in her adventures, brave readerand may fortune always favor your Game!

5.0 out of 5 stars a little taste

Barely enough to whet the appetite. The MC has only the barest of classes and scant skills, plus no real understanding of the game. I am curious how this will fit into the larger series. Now to wait for the next book.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a really short read though. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story

Not much to really say other than it was a great story and the only real disappointment is how short it was. Can't wait for the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick read and the introduction to a cool world concept.

I enjoyed the book, but it ended to quickly. A bit simple, but still fun. Though I get the feeling the world is far from simple. A fun quick read for litrpg folks.

3.0 out of 5 stars okay

An okay short story. Decent litrpg elements, characters and story. Simple and straightforward. If food, it would be fast food.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable but too short in length

This is my first book by Tom Elliot and Rohan Vider. First, this is a short novella at only 119 pages. The story moves along at a fast clip, and there are no secondary stories and even that many characters. The plot is generic but still enjoyable: Elana's brother has fallen sick and needs to be cured. Her dead parents left some things behind that just happen to turn her into a player, and now she needs to find the cure for her brother. That's it, more or less. I haven't read any of the full length novels yet but I might check them out now that I've read this. The editing is tight and the stat sheets are far too complete for a story of this length. 4/5* (-1 for being so short)

Great little side story to the grand game

Really enjoy this journey with Elena and Alon please write more. The grand game is a great series and I want as much as I can get my greedy little hands on.

5.0 out of 5 stars More please

I'm going to keep it plain and simple: please give us more of El and her brothers. Getting another POV into the world you introduced with Michael would be awesome!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not much to see here

I realize this is almost a "trailer" for the next book, but there's not a lot to see here. Her initial abilities are pretty meh. I'm about to start reading the next book, so I'm assuming the pace will pick up and the MC gets some worthwhile abilities.

1.0 out of 5 stars No longer than a short story

This doesn’t qualify for a novel. As a short story it was passable, but I wasn’t expecting the book to end before I decided if I liked the characters.

Expands the story

It’s a short novel and although simple is entertaining, if you liked The Grand Game, you will probably like this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Seemed like it just started going, then "The End".

It seemed like a good story, but then it just got a little too far fetched. Why would they have cages for people in the same room as their stash (treasure). And then leave one guy guarding that who just conveniently went to sleep. I had to really stretch to suspend my disbelief. Everything worked in their favor, against all reason. The big evil group out to kill her was too stupid to be the biggest most feared thing around. I won't be reading the next one. It just started getting interesting and then I saw these big words, "The End" and I was like, what?! I had just started really reading it and it was over. But, 3 start just because they put forth the effort.
